First dance event of 2016 is the carnival of Mardi Gras (meaning fat Tuesday in French) and called shrove Tuesday in England, the Christian tradition of of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the lent season. We will be celebrating New Orleans style wearing masks, costumes, dancing, parades and general debauchery! A collection of floats will parade through the streets of New Orleans Shadows with each float pausing outside the newly built Theatre for onlookers to watch one fabulous dance performance per float.
